Now at Rainbow

Last week Rainbow Co-op decided to start carrying our cheese (hooray!) I love Rainbow, always have. I love the rows of bulk bins, the smell of the spices and natural body products, the extensive cheese collection…amazing. However I live nowhere near there and don’t have a car, so my trips were rare. Now that I get to deliver regularly, I have an excuse to run in and buy a few things each time. Hooray, again!

On Sunday I set up a terrifyingly rickety table that the customer service department lent me (no judgments here–they were bailing me out since it is difficult to schelp a table with no car…) and handed out samples all afternoon. Rainbow has a very different customer base than say, City Beer Store, or even the markets that we normally do. Very few people were interested in the actual beer, but more cared about the cheese. It was the first time I’d ever been asked about rBST in our spread (for the record–nope! None here). The cheese nerd in me was very happy. I was also there after the Folsom Fair let out. It is difficult to focus on explaining beer cheese to a man wearing a corset and leather mini skirt (but way more fun!). And slightly more disconcerting that he was being entirely serious while listening to me and then bought some.

I love San Francisco.

Find both flavors of our spread over in the cheese department there, either in the reach-in case or on the refrigerated shelves.
